About
A reference, not a sales funnel.
Most directories in this space are lead-gen with a directory layout taped on top. This one isn't.
What this is
The CASP Directory is a public-source reference for the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation and the firms that work around it. Every listing has a source URL. Every MiCA article has a plain-English summary with citations. The FAQ answers the questions we actually hear - not the ones that drive demos.
What it isn't
It isn't legal advice. It isn't a broker. It isn't an underwriter. It isn't an endorsement of any firm on the list. The directory exists to save you the first three hours of every "who's good at X under MiCA" question - not to replace the people you should be paying.
How firms get listed
Editorial. Free. Source-required. If your firm publishes credible work on a MiCA-relevant topic, written by people whose names appear on the page, not a content marketing agency, send us the URL and we'll add you. We won't move firms up or down for money. We will accept clearly labelled sponsorship that doesn't touch the editorial list.
One firm we do own: CASP Insurance
We run caspinsurance.com, an insurance aggregator for CASPs that sits in front of Elmore and other specialist crypto and fintech brokers. It's listed in the directory and on the insurance evidence page, clearly marked "Editor's pick" with a disclosure note. We feature it because we think a single intake form is genuinely better than cold-calling six brokers. We don't move other firms down to make space for it; everyone else still appears.
If that feels like a conflict to you, fair. The other 33 firms on the directory are still listed, sourced, and not paid placements. Use whichever fits your situation.
How it's maintained
We re-read the source pages we link to on a rolling schedule. Listings get pulled when the firm stops publishing. The MiCA article summaries get updated when ESMA, EBA, or an NCA publishes guidance that materially changes the answer. Updates are timestamped.
Who's behind it
The CASP Directory is run by independent researchers working in and around the European crypto-asset regulatory space. We do not provide regulated services. We are not a CASP, a broker, an underwriter, or a law firm. The honest version: we built this because we kept getting asked the same questions and there wasn't a clean place to send people.
